Tonight I decided to make a lidded box. I had a piece of cherry wood from my church that had pretty coloring and grain pattern. It’s about the size of a coke can. This was the first time I have made one. It took me about two hours in total.
Finally feeling better after a crummy head cold. 😷 I didn’t really have a ton of energy to do an adventure day but I had to jump on my lathe and make something.
I had a chunk or Yucatán rosewood I ordered from amazon. I figured since it wasn’t too big I could make a small bowl from it. It ended up about a 4 1/2″ bowl. The grain is very beautiful and took a mineral oil finish beautifully.
What do you guys think?
